The Service Committee wishes to thank all of our St. Teresa Family neighbors for making "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" Day a special blessing to many. We collected 146 sweaters and $59.25 in donations for SVDP. The students' "Hi, Neighbor!" drawings are full of delight and hope and will bring many smiles to our our neighbors in local care and retirement homes. Each member of the St. Teresa Family made the day special "just by being you."

The St. Teresa's Service Committee wants to thank you for contributing to the recent "toothpaste and skate" collection. We have 60 tubes of toothpaste and even some new toothbrushes to offer the families that St. Cyril's food bank serves. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

St. Teresa families supported new life with donations of 37 packages of diapers and $10.00 to Genesis of Pittsburgh in Bellevue. Every donation goes a long way and helps Genesis in their mission: to create new beginnings for moms and their children. Thank you for your participation.

Gently used and new toys and books overflowed the main hallway this December! The Service Committee thanks St. Teresa Families for donating 4 carloads of new and gently-used toys to Genesis of Pittsburgh in Bellevue. Genesis—a maternity care, adoption, foster care, and social service agency that provides life-affirming support for women and families—places toys with families who are served through its outreach program. The families served are able to select items for their children, many of whom would not have Christmas gifts to open without the donations. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of many families this blessed Advent and Christmas season.

The Red Door Candy collection after Halloween (the collection is now in its third year) was once again very successful. These treats are included in the daily lunches handed out to the recipients of the Red Door Lunch Program at St. Mary of Mercy Church in Downtown Pittsburgh. All donations were greatly appreciated. We received the following note from St. Mary of Mercy Parish:

“Dear Friends, Thank you so much for your recent delivery of Halloween candy for our Red Door Program. Our clients have been both surprised and delighted to find your yummy goodies tucked into their lunch bags this week! On behalf of those we serve we thank you for your generosity and for your support of our ministry to the hungry and homeless here in downtown Pittsburgh. May God bless you, one and all! Sincerely, Betty”
