Welcome back to another year of competitive speaking!
St. Teresa's is a member of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Forensics League (S.P.F.L). The S.P.F.L promotes the development of a student's ability to speak in front of a group.
Through forensics, a student (in grades 6-8) may compete in one of five categories of oral interpretation: poetry, prose, declamation, drama, and multiple reading; or one category of impromptu speaking.
Speech competitions involve students from Catholic schools in the City of Pittsburgh, northern Allegheny County and southern Butler County as well as several public schools in the area. Catholic schools from Robinson Township, Forest Hills, and the South Hills also participate. Tournaments are hosted by member schools throughout the school year.
